The Airside Training Company is located at Heathrow Airport and provides learning courses for personnel who work airside at airports. The courses are structured to ensure personnel understand regulatory procedures and the disciplines required to work and drive safely airside. Courses Available.
To renew an Airside Driver Authority (ADA) at Melbourne Airport, follow the steps in Enrol in an eLearning course and select 'ADA Level 2 - Renewal'.
You must have a current and valid ADA on your AIRDAT Passport profile to be able to book into the renewal training. If your qualification has expired, you will need to petition Melbourne Airport (email below) to extend your ADA so that you may enrol in the ADA renewal course.
Once you have completed the eLearning course, please bring your old ADA, state drivers licence and ASIC to the Building 219 ASIC Office to collect your renewed ADA permit.
Note - If you cannot enrol in the 'ADA Level 2 - Renewal' you may need to sync your Litmos account. (see below for this)
To be eligible to complete an ADA Renewal course, a Candidate must have completed the required pre-requisites.
If you know that you have previously completed the pre-requisites, you may need to re-sync with your Litmos account (see related articles).
If, after syncing, you are still unable to move forward with your Renewal, your particular enquiry will be best addressed by the airport directly. In which case, please contact the relevant airport team for further support
Airside Training Academy (ATA) offers training courses to provide knowledge, develop skills and introduce trainees to safe operating techniques on airside vehicles. These courses are offered on various vehicle simulator range giving an opportunity to move from passive to active learning.
COURSES
Courses offered are Ramp Safety Induction, Airside Driving Skills and Operating Ground Staff Equipment. These courses are offered on various airside vehicle simulator ranges namely Baggage tractor, Pushback, Catering Truck and more.
RAMP SAFETY INDUCTION
The aim of this course is to provide basic knowledge on how to perform functions on the ramp safely. This course has been designed for all personnel involved in ramp handling to train new employees involved in ramp handling and provide refresher skills for current employees

OPERATING GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT
The aim of this course is to introduce the trainees to safe operating techniques for the following listed ground handling equipment’s.
Aircraft Servicing
This course will introduce different driving techniques while towing and reversing dollies and trolleys. The lists of equipment included for training are baggage tractor, catering truck, passenger bus, fire trucks and fuel truck.
Aircraft Movement
The aim of this course is to provide the skills and knowledge required to safely drive and operate a pushback tractor.
AIRSIDE VEHICLE SIMULATOR RANGE
Auto clicker for chromebook. Airside Training Academy provides training on a wide range of airside vehicle simulator. To mention a few, Baggage Tractor, Cobus, Pushback – Tow Bar, Catering Truck, Passenger Bus, Patrolling Vehicle, Fire Truck and SUV.
