WHAT IS TRENCH WARFARE

Trench warfare, in the military sense of the words, is a “type of warfare in which opposing armies face each other in entrenched – extensively dug-in – positions.” (thefreedictionary.com).

There are some differences between the conventional wars of today between nations and peoples from the war we Christians are in now. First, our weapons are are not like that of the world (II Cor 10:4-6), rather we fight using God’s word, for our fight is not with “flesh and blood” (Eph 6:12). Instead of destroying other people for self gain we strive for everyone to be saved including our enemies. For it is the Devil (I Peter 5:8-9), the flesh (Gal 5:17), and the world (I John 2:15) and all of those principalities and powers (Eph 6:12) that we are in a fight with.

Most people are either ignorant of this war or in denial. We, on the other hand see it and are determined to make this war known, that it is not any small skirmish. That we are in an entrenched position fighting daily.

WHY TRENCH WARFARE?

Since The Fall of mankind the Church has been in a war with the Devil, the Flesh, and the World. Our war looks much like trench warfare. We are facing opposing armies and both sides, the Church and her enemies, are in entrenched positions. A difference in this war is that we know the outcome, in that God has won the war for us.

Today we see now in the “Church” culture today; apostasy, compromise, persecution, silence amidst wickedness and so much more. As the collapse of the Christian culture in the West continues and various pagan revolutions in the East war becomes more and more visible everyday.
